Iowa Rep. Steve King has recommended prayer as the solution to some of the United States’ major problems.
In a wide-ranging interview with the Conservative Chronicle podcast, he gave his opinion on pressing issues such as the threat of ISIS, gun violence and global warming
“We just need to get back in touch with the Lord and pray about these problems,” said King. “He’ll take of it.”
In an interview on the “Caffeinated Thoughts” podcast, King said the United States started going downhill as soon as prayer was taken out of school.
“Well, I was sitting [as] a freshman in high school when Murray vs. Curlett came down (in 1963) that ordered that there be no more prayer in the public schools,” said King, according to Right Wing Watch. “… society capitulated to the command of the Supreme Court, and then we saw a watershed that went downhill: Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, Griswold v. Connecticut, Eisenstadt, on and on and on … but we went downhill fast.”
