Donald Trump is wreaking havoc on the Republican party. The billionaire real estate mogul and reality star is continuing to insult other GOPers. Trump has refused to back down from disparaing comments he made about New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, who is seen as a rising star in the party.
Last week Trump falsely blamed Martinez for accepting Syrian refugeees and accused her of being responsible for an increase in food stamp recipients, according to the Inquisitr.
“Hey! Maybe I’ll run for governor of New Mexico, get this place going,” said Trump.
But Trump has continued with his insults.
“Martinez has done a poor job with New Mexico, but then she comes from a Mexican background,” said Trump in a radio interview. “As I said before they don’t send us their best people. Mexico is in mess too.”
On “FOX News Sunday,” Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowksi defended his boss’ comments.
“Every time Mr. Trump goes to speak somewhere, he lays out the problems at that given location… That doesn’t matter for New Mexico, or for Indiana, or for for Michigan. People are hurting. And we need a president who’s going to bring our jobs back. And so, outlining the economy of a specific location, something that he has done across the country, everywhere he’s gone, because we need to highlight the problems we have, and what we’re going to do to fix those problems,” said Lewandowski.
