Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is working hard to win over Evangelical Christians. In an interview with WEHW radio, he compared himself to Jesus Christ.
“Jesus was a great guy, I love Jesus,” he said. “Actually, I have a lot in common with Jesus. We both worked in the family business and, like Jesus, I’m really a blue-collar guy. Sure, I have a private plane, gold-plated buildings and a super model wife, but I’m a regular guy on the inside.”
Trump recently met with several Evangelical Christians to form an Evangelical Executive Advisory Board, who will counsel him on matters of faith.
Dr. James Dobson, one of the nation’s leading Evangelicals, is convinced Trump has accepted Jesus into his heart.
“I don’t know when it was, but it has not been long,” said Dobson, according to the New York Times. “I believe he really made a commitment, but he’s a baby Christian.”
Several other Evangelicals, who were convinced Sen. Ted Cruz was divinely ordained, now believe God has selected Trump.
