A new poll from right-leaning polling firm Occidental Public Polling (OPP) shows that some Donald Trump supporters don’t have a firm grasp of the facts. A new OPP poll found that half of Trump supporters believe President Barack Obama is working with Hydra to bring down the United States.
Hydra is a fictional secret criminal organization from the Marvel Comics Universe. Trump has suggested that Obama is sympathetic to terrorist groups, which is a common theme on the right.
“He doesn’t get it or he gets it better than anybody understands. It’s one or the other,” said Trump in a FOX News interview. “We’re led by a man that either is, is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind.” Trump added, “People cannot — they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts and can’t even mention the words radical Islamic terrorism. There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable.”
Trump fans also have some other bizarre views. Some of them were outlined in a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey:
– According to the PPP survey, 46 percent of Trump supporters said they believed ACORN, an organization that no longer exists, will help Hillary Clinton steal the election.
– 41 percent of Trump supporters believe Clinton is the devil.
– 48 percent of Trump supporters blamed Obama and Clinton for the death of Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004 when George W. Bush was president.
