Right-wing commentator Michael Savage has joined the list of people who have criticized San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
“That boy needs to stick to throwing a ball,” said Savage on his radio show. “He should stand up and respect the flag, like other patriotic Americans.”
Savage has a history of making racist remarks. In the past, he has called inner city children “ghetto slime.” And he was barred from entering Britain because of his hate speech. Savage is a strong supporter of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump has advised Kaepernick to “find another country,” if he wasn’t happy with this one.
Kaepernick created a media storm when news reports picked up that he had decided to sit during the national anthem to protest police killings.
Unfortunately, his action has drawn abuse with fans burning his shirt. Some people have taken to social media to express their feelings.
A Twitter user named Josh Nicholson wrote: “Get out of the country then you stupid f**king n**ger@Kaepernick7 you should be embarrassed to admit you won’t stand for national anthem.”
