Republicans declared that they wanted to make Barack Obama a one-term president. However, Hillary Clinton might not even make it to the end of her first term, if some GOPers have their way.
Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter has urged fellow Republicans to begin impeachment proceedings on day one of Clinton’s presidency.
“If Americans are too stupid to make Donald Trump president, and Hillary steals the election, then the Republican Party needs to start thinking of how they can remove her,” said Coulter in an interview with the Conservative Chronicle.
However, some Republicans want to impeach Clinton before she becomes president. According to Right Wing Watch, Andrew McCarthy, a former adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz wants to “preemptively impeach” Clinton.
“The proceeding against Clinton would not be a presidential impeachment; it would be an impeachment based on her abuses of power as secretary of state, which would have the constitutional effect of disqualifying her for the presidency,” said McCarthy in a National Review article.
