If you thought birtherism was over, then think again. Supporters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump are hoping that when he becomes president, he will reopen his investigation into President Barack Obama’s birth records.

“Personally, I hope that when Trump becomes president, he will launch an FBI investigation into Obama and indict him for fraud,” said right-wing radio host Michael Savage. “I still don’t believe he was born in America.”

Other conservatives said they questioned the birth places of all the Obamas. A poster on the white supremacist website Stormfront called Luvsanncoulter said he doubted if the entire Obama family were born in this country.

“They call themselves African Americans, maybe they were all born in Africa?” he said.

Trump admitted that he ended the birther issue because it was becoming a distraction.

“Well, I just wanted to get on with, I wanted to get on with the campaign,” said Trump in an interview with Ohio’s ABC 6. “A lot of people were asking me questions. We want to talk about jobs. We want to talk about the military. We want to talk about ISIS and get rid of ISIS.”
