Right-wing radio show host Michael Savage has urged President-elect Donald to crack down on Muslims, “because they can’t be trusted.”
“How can we successfully fight the War on Terror when we have Muslims in our government?” said Savage on his show. “The Savage Nation.” “You can never tell which side they are on.”
Savage’s comments are not much different from some of the comments made by other Republicans and Trump. During his campaign, Trump promised to ban Muslim immigration, although he has backed off on this. Kris Kobach, who has been talked about as Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security, has talked about establishing a registry for Muslim visitors.
According to Right-Wing Watch, Wayne Allyn Root, a Republican activist and Trump supporter, says that Muslims shouldn’t hold high-level government posts.
“We finally have an administration that can use the word Islam and terrorism in the same sentence, and we’re naming people to important positions who have problems with radical Islam instead of people in important positions who are Muslims!” said Root in a Newsmax interview.
