Televangelist Pat Robertson is singing the praises of President Donald Trump
“I thank God for sending us Christians someone like Donald Trump,” said Robertson on the “700 Club.” “He saved Christianity, which was under threat by the Obama administration.”
Robertson isn’t alone in his praise of Trump. Other Evangelicals seemed to have overlooked the fact Trump had a disastrous first week that was marked by mass demonstrations and legal challenges to his illegal executive orders.
Televangelist Rick Joyner compared Trump to the Biblical King Cyrus who organized Jews to rebuild the temple, according to Right Wing Watch.
Joyner said Trump “is going to help provide much of the resources required to finish the house of God.”
He also called Trump “righteous” and said his election was a “miracle.”
Black conservative Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson took things even further. He compared Trump to Jesus.
“So I’m wondering, what is wrong with black men that they are not able to go in and clean up their own neighborhoods, put their own families back together? It takes a white man to do it, and it’s the white man that they hate,” said Peterson in an interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg. “They hate this white man and he’s the one that’s going to save them. Reminds me of Jesus Christ, how he came and made it possible for us to return to the Father, and he was hated for doing that as well, and they took him out. Donald Trump is the white savior.”
