The Donald Trump administration might look like a trainwreck to non-partisan observers, but not to hard-core Trump supporters.
According to FOX News commentator Eric Bolling, Trump is doing an outstanding job.
“He’s shaking up the Washington establishment and getting things done,” said Bolling. “He’s bringing all his business expertise to the political arena and making D.C. more efficient. If he keeps this up, he’ll end on Mount Rushmore.”
Bolling’s views are echoed by other Trump supporters. Trump held a bizarre press conference on Thursday, where he bad-mouthed the press, accused former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton of giving uranium to Russia and asked reporter April Ryan, an African American, if she could arrange a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus.
During the press conference, Trump said his administration was “running like a fine-tuned machine.”
Although Trump’s performance was met with howls of derision and shock, Trump supporters are still backing him according to the Associated Press.
“I back him 100 percent,” said Richelle Kirk, a homemaker from West Virginia. “You either love it or get out, is my opinion.”
However, MSNBC presenter Rachel Maddow said Trump is failing. She pointed out his Muslim ban was overturned in court, Betsy DeVos, his secretary of Education, barely squeaked through her confirmation; Andrew Puzder, Trump’s nominee for labor secretary, resigned amid allegations he had physically abused his ex-wife, and Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Trump’s National Security advisor, resigned after it was revealed he had contacted the Russian ambassador. Maddow also said Trump has yet to write any significant legislation.
