Sunday night’s Oscar ceremony will go down in history for having one of the most embarrassing gaffes. “La La Land” was mistakenly announced as best picture winner instead of “Moonlight.” But radio show host Alex Jones, of course, sees a conspiracy at work.
“‘La La Land’ was supposed to win but Black Lives Matter terrorists and Anonymous teamed up to hack the results,” said Jones on his show “Infowars.” “It worked for Hollywood because it helps advance their liberal agenda.”
Breitbart, the white nationalist site which is pro-Trump, also promoted another conspiracy theory. The site featured a story from the East Bay Times, which suggested that President Donald Trump was behind the mix up. The East Bay Times claims it was payback for several critical comments made about him at the Oscars
“Did presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway blow it big time? Was this the revenge of Steve Harvey? Or did the White House play a role — seeking retaliation for all those zingers Kimmel tossed President Trump’s way?” said East Bay Times writer Chuck Barney. “Conspiracy theories will undoubtedly abound as sleuths seek to get to the bottom of this Oscar fiasco.”
