Conservative commentator Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson has come to the defense of President Donald Trump, who is suffering from low ratings and doesn’t have much to show after his first 100 days in office.
Trump has dismissed the 100 days measuring stick as unrealistic, even though he bragged about what he would achieve during his campaign. However, on his radio show, Peterson said Trump was being unfairly attacked because he was a white man.
“The liberal left, and their allies in the media, love to beat up on white men, even though they have done so much for this country,” said Peterson. “Trump inherited the disaster left by the Obama years. Like most black men, Obama created a mess that a white man had to fix.”
According to Right Wing Watch, Peterson also defended Bill O’Reilly, another embattled white man. O’Reilly was recently fired by FOX News for several incidents of sexual harassment.
“This was a modern-day lynching of a straight, Christian, conservative, white male of power,” said Peterson. “That’s all this is about, folks. White males of power are under attack. The straight white male of power is the only thing that is keeping the country hanging on. You get rid of them, it’s over. And that’s what these children of the lie are working desperately trying to do.”
