White House counterterrorism advisor Sebastian Gorka is the latest Trump administration official to be let go. The Trump administration has already seen other high-profile departures such as National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Sec. of Treasury nominee Andy Puzder and national security spokesperson Monica Crowley. Puzder and Crowley both resigned before they even got into office.
The Hill reported a White House official announced Gorka would be leaving this summer. Gorka has drawn negative publicity recently after it was revealed that he had a PhD from a phony university and was linked to a Hungarian neo-Nazi group. According to a BuzzFeed article, a Hungarian intelligence official described him as a “snake-oil salesman,” Although Gorka billed himself as an expert in Islamic terrorism, he doesn’t speak Arabic and has no experience in that field.
Surprisingly when The Business Standard News reached out to some Republicans, they were not sad to see him go.
“Where did he get his other degrees? Hamburger University?” said a White House insider.
A GOP official, who requested to remain anonymous, was equally sarcastic.
“Gorka couldn’t get a job as a janitor at (Glenn) Beck University,” said “Rob,” a GOP insider. “He makes Mike Flynn look likes Jason Bourne.”
