Right-wing radio show host Michael Savage has joined President Donald Trump in attacking the media. Savage said the media was being subversive by trying to undermine Trump’s presidency.
“The liberal media keeps harping on the fake Russia story and overlooking all of the president’s achievements,” said Savage on his show “The Savage Nation.” “The media is destabilizing the country. They’re a bigger threat than ISIS.”
Trump has maintained a steady attack on the media labeling them “the enemy of the people.” Some other right-wing commentators have joined him. FOX News’s Sean Hannity recently accused the media of being “overpaid and lazy.” (Hannity made $29 million last year, which put him as the highest-paid person in the media.)
But according to CNN’s Brian Stelter, Trump’s attacks on the media seem to be working on his base. According to an ABC/Washington Post poll, about half of Republicans voters don’t think Donald Trump Jr. did anything wrong when he met with a Russian lawyer who claimed she had dirt on Hillary Clinton.
