Conservative radio show host Michael Savage has praised Secretary of Education Betsy Devos’ attempts to roll back school regulations that protect LBGTQ students.
Apparently, Savage seems to think violence against gay people is natural.
“A young high school jock shouldn’t be punished if he decides to beat up some fag who was looking at his junk in the shower,” said Savage on his radio show “The Savage Nation.”
Even though Savage, whose real name is Wiener, has recast himself as a fire-breathing conservative, he went skinny dipping with Timothy Leary In the 1960s. Savage was also fired from MSNBC for insulting a caller with a homophobic slur.
But he is not the only conservative who has justified violence against gay people.
Rep. Mike Enzi, a Republican from Wyoming, recently said that gay people sometimes bring violence on themselves.
“I know a guy who wears a tutu and goes to bars on Friday night and is always surprised that he gets in fights. Well, he kind of asks for it. That’s the way that he winds up with that kind of problem,” said Enzi.
