Jones: Obama’s Reptilians Started Wildfires to Push ‘Global Warming Myth’

Supporters of President Donald Trump are willing to bend over backward to believe all kinds of conspiracy theories. The latest conspiracy promoted by Alex Jones, host of “InfoWars,” is about the California wildfires.

Even though California officials say the fires were exacerbated by climate change and a five-year drought, Jones blamed them on former President Barack Obama and his reptilian alien allies.

“Obama used reptilian shape shifters to start the fires so the liberals could continue to push their global warming myth,” said Jones on his radio show.

That is not the only conspiracy theory being promoted about the California fires. Alt-right site Breitbart promoted the racist lie that the fires were started by an undocumented Mexican immigrant.

The story was also picked up by other right-wing sites.

“Jesus Fabian Gonzalez is now sitting in the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of arson for being at least one of those responsible for the rash of fires that have devastated California this month killing at least 40,” said American News 24/7.

Breitbart also claimed that Gonzalez had been arrested for his role in starting the wildfires. But this claim was angrily refuted by local police.

“After they published that story we started getting a lot of calls,” said Sgt. Spencer Crum, a spokesperson for the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in a BuzzFeed interview. “There is no indication Mr. Gonzalez is connected to the wildfires. None. Breitbart made that up themselves.”

ICE also got involved and accused Sonoma County of being “uncooperative” and taking actions that left their community “vulnerable to dangerous individuals and preventable crimes.”

But Sonoma County Sheriff Rob Giordano also shot that down.

“ICE attacked the Sheriff’s Office in the midst of the largest natural disaster this county has ever experienced,” said Giordano. “I hope to end this senseless public confrontation with these facts so that I may focus on the fire recovery.”
