A new poll indicates that Omarosa Manigault-Newman, who recently parted way with the Trump administration, is not exactly a welcome face in the black community. Manigault-Newman is a former star of the reality show “The Apprentice.”
A survey by Occidental Public Polling showed that Manigault-Newman, commonly known as Omarosa, ranked behind Bill Cosby, diabetes and the police among black voters.
Manigault-Newman, who was either fired or quit the White House last week, claimed she was advocating for the black community.
Initial news reports said that Manigault-Newman was terminated by Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly, flew into a rage and had to be physically removed from the White House. Another report also claimed Newman tripped an alarm when she tried to enter the president’s office.
However, in an interview ABC’s “Good Morning America,”Manigault-Newman claimed she resigned from her position, even though her security clearance has been deactivated and she is barred from reentering the White House. Manigault-Newman also claimed she had seen several things that had made her uncomfortable as a black woman in the Trump administration. She later caught flak when she described President Donald Trump as “racial, not racist.”
Some black women in the media were glad to see the combative Omarosa go. CNN commentator Angela Rye laughed out at her demise, Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America,” said “Bye, Felicia” and “The View’s” Whoopi Goldberg said, “I hope you find something to do, O. And I hope you find your people—because maybe they’re looking for you”
Black voters interviewed by the Business Standard News were also not fans of Omarosa.
“Man, everyone knows that Omarosa is all about Omarosa,” said Dwight Stevens, a Chicago resident. “I’ve seen crackheads with more integrity than Omarosa.”
