While news of Sarah Palin being on the short list of vice presidential candidates for Donald Trump has been greeted with horror and amusement, some people are excited at the idea of a Trump-Palin ticket. One of them is right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
“A Trump-Palin team would crush Hillary,” said Limbaugh. “Trump and Palin together is like having a George Washington-Abraham Lincoln ticket. They are two of our nation’s greatest political thinkers.”
Limbaugh has been effusive in his praise of both Trump and Palin. According to The Washington Post, Limbaugh has praised Trump’s courage.
“I think with the case of Trump, there’s a much bigger upside than downside,” said Limbaugh.
He also had kind words about Palin, who was seen as one of the reasons why Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign crashed and burned.
Limbaugh praised a rambling Palin speech that was widely mocked, even by Republicans.
“I saw people pan it, say that she looked like she lost her place, she was reading cue cards, she didn’t seem to be all there… I didn’t see it, but I read the transcript and I’m telling you, it is… I don’t want to overdo it [mumble] brilliant, but man, I’ll tell ya, she’s got substantive, logical reasons for doing what she’s doing,” said Limbaugh.
