A white nationalist group is claiming the media is being extra critical of President Donald Trump because he’s white.

The National White Alliance claims the press gave President Barack Obama a pass because they wanted the first black president to succeed.

“The liberal media favored Obama so they allowed him to use his black privilege and cut him slack,” said National White Alliance President Brian Blanc. “Now, a white man is president again, they want to focus on all his flaws to make it look as if he’s failing. White men are the most discriminated group in America.”

Blanc wasn’t the only conservative commentator who shared this view. Conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh said Trump’s race works against him. During an interview with Chris Wallace on “FOX News Sunday,” Limbaugh suggested the press were being extra critical of Trump because he was white. He also said that President Barack Obama was given a bye because people wanted the first black president to succeed.

“[Obama was] the first African-American president,” said Limbaugh. “You have everybody falling all over themselves to acknowledge that, to reward that. Obama was going to get everything he wanted in the first year because if anybody opposed it, they were going to be accused of being a racist or bigot or who knows what.”
