Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to capture a mythical Mexican monster.
“When I become president, I will assign a team of FBI agents to capture or kill the chupacabra,” said Trump in a radio interview. “The chupacabra is just one more bad thing coming across the border from Mexico terrorizing the United States.”
The chupacabra is a mythical creature that is alleged to drain blood from livestock.
Trump also accused the Mexican government of breeding and training chupacabras to target the American cattle industry.
Trump’s statement is the latest in a long list of outlandish claims made by the billionaire real estate magnate and reality TV star. He has also promised to round up and deport all illegal immigrants and build a wall on the Mexican border. The Washington Post estimated the cost of a constructing a wall at $25 billion. Trump also claimed he would make Mexico cover the costs.
Last week Trump linked Sen. Ted Cruz’s father to the assassination of President John. F. Kennedy, information he got from the National Enquirer.
“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” said Trump in an interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”
